LOVING YOURSELF COMES FIRST (Self Love).
Before loving somebody else, you first have to love yourself fully. But not in a way that makes you appear selfish though.
The Bible uses this as an illustration to show that a true believer should love him/herself. And if you do, this is the gateway to extend the same love to your neighbour.
Matthew 7:12 says "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets" (KJV).
The above scripture contributes to the main fact here. Do unto others what you want others to do unto you. This is the Golden Rule.
If you don't love yourself, I don't see how you can love another person else. Why, because;
1. You don't know what if feels like to love,
2. You don't know how it feels,
3. You don't know where it hurts, though you might assume,
4. You don't know how to be of help, because you have failed to help yourself first.
But your ability to love yourself in spite of your flaws, shows how ready you are to love another person. You have chosen to open your heart to a divine healing. And believe me, it goes a long way in helping you boost a healthy relationship.
