THE DIFFERENCE IS CLEAR (The Wedding is not the marriage)
insight as to what wedding and marriage actually means. And this same mentality has enveloped the heart of upcoming generations and those about to get married.
There is this mindset that is now taken as a normal thing in the circular world today. And that is the fact that;
They value the wedding day more than the marriage!!!
Well it is funny and alarming to see how a person who is about to get married only plans for the wedding day and forget about what lies after (the marriage).
How can someone who wants to marry not have any idea concerning marriage?? Or he/she haven't read any book or even attended any serminar concerning marriage.
But they (he/she) can spend huge amount of money on the wedding, which is just for few hours.
There is something that you should be familiar with if you often attend weddings. The people who joins you to eat, drink and merry on that wedding day won't be there with you to face the music when you start reaping from the fruit of Negligence. And this will only happen if you refuse to sow a good seed now by reading books, attending seminars or even listening to marriage counsellors giving instances on how they settled a very serious marriage dispute.
Galatians 6:7 says "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (KJV).
How do you now get ready for marriage??
Well the first mindset should be sowing a good seed today. Second of all, you should know that marriage is not something that you rush into. It needs;
1. Time.
2. Dedication and Commitment.
3. Resources.
4. The Heart, which is very crucial because it houses the above three criteria.
Proverbs 18:22 says "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD" (New International version (NIV)). So marriage is a blessing and God Almighty already fully adores it.
Getting ready for marriage is never too early!
There is nothing like he got too ready for marriage or she got too ready for marriage. But what is considered too early is getting into the marriage, why because he/she is already in it.
There are all different kinds and types of books, blogs and even TV shows that talks about relationships and marriages today, but few are actually based on God's standards and principles. Like majority are based on the circular lifestyle. But if you think it works best for you, then it's okay.
But also note something: There is nothing that works best as long as it is not in Christ Jesus.
See Proverbs 16:1 which says "We may make our plans, but God has the last word" (Good News Bible). The Bible which is the word of God recognizes the need for planning ahead. But the final decision should be made by God.
Although due to the different odds and ordeals we are meant to face in the world today, it still doesn't hurt to plan ahead and it never will. In fact you enjoy it when you plan ahead. But God has to be your director and Chief in charge of your life. Only then can your plans become a reality.
