THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS IN RELATIONSHIPS.

 Forgiveness is a very important aspect that matters a lot in relationships, no matter the hurt or pain.

There are going to be facts that will be established here in this write up.

Firstly the fact, you forgave your partner that hurt you, doesn't necessarily mean you should or must be in a relationship with him/her again. Sometimes your forgiveness might mean letting that person go.

If you read the books of Matthew 6:12 "Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us" (Good News Bible).

Verse 14-15 further gave a condition for you to be forgiven by your Heavenly Father.

"If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you gave done" (Good News Bible).

The Second fact here is that the Bible says you should forgive no matter the hurt or pains. Meaning you have the ability to forgive. Remember God will never ask of you things he knows you can't do.

1 Corinthians 10:13 "Every test that you have experienced is the kind that normally comes to people. But God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out" (Good News Bible).

So it isn't I who said it, but our Heavenly Father in Heaven.

The third fact is, Forgiveness is one big aspect in the life of a believer that is most times too difficult to practice.

People feel it isn't easy to forgive someone who;

  • Hurt their feelings,
  • Lied to them in the face,
  • Betrayed them. Most especially if it's a best friend or a partner.
Well these are the tricks that the devil uses to trap you into his own world of lies and deceit. He (Satan) might make you think you can't forgive because of the pain and heartbreak.

But here is the bottom line, you can forgive. Though you might be thinking you're the only one passing through the hurt, but NO.
There are persons who was once where you are, and have also passed that level too.

1 Peter 5:9 says "Be firm in your faith and resist him, because you know that other believers in all the world are going through the same kind of sufferings" (Good News Bible).

And here comes the fourth fact. You are not alone in this fight, we all pass through the same trials and temptations as you, sometimes even worse. But as long as Christ dwell in us, he has given us the ability to overcome.
