Knowing Your Essence.

First, let's start from this question,

What is your essence?

There are lots of individuals who don't know their importance or where they're heading to in life.

Life for this set of people is never fair, life for them is so mean, and life for them isn't worth the hustle and tussle. They always see the bad things in life.

Well this set of people are who we refer to as laggers.

Note they are not worthless, but they have chosen to be unproductive and in so doing making themselves worth less.

Deuteronomy 1:15 says "So I took the wise and experienced leaders you chose from your tribes, and I placed them in charge of you. Some were responsible for a thousand people, some for a hundred, some for fifty and some for ten. I also appointed other officials throughout the tribes" (GNB).

This is a very clear definition of essence.

"Some were responsible for a thousand people, some for a hundred, some for fifty and some for ten".

Discovering your essence makes you know your capacity as a person especially in relationships.

And so I ask again, what is your essence? What substance are you made of? What are you capable of? How productive are you?

This questions also applies to relationships. What are you both bringing to the table? What are you adding or going to add to make your relationship valuable?

Whether you like it or not, if only one party is always the one bringing, then that relationship is set for failure.

You know in this part of the world, especially Nigeria, the ladies most times have this mindset that it is the man that is supposed to handle most of the responsibilities in the home.

Yes, we aren't arguing that. They are the men, but this doesn't mean you should suspend your ability to be productive and not build your essence.

How many men in this generation will want to marry a full time house wife?

Ecclesiastes 4:9 says "Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour" (KJV).

"Two can accomplish more than twice as much as one, for the results can be much better" (Living Bible).

"Two are better than one, because together they can work more effectively" (GNB).

This is what God is saying, so why suspend your brain when you can make it work.

Build your essence as a woman. See there is nothing as admirable as a woman who knows how to make the best out of her essence.

There is nothing as loving as seeing a woman having a focus and target.

There is nothing as adoring as seeing a woman who isn't dependent on any man to make her successful.

So I ask again, what is your essence? And are you building your essence?
