RESPONSIBILITY
Ladies and gentlemen as you will have me call it, there is one aspect of relationship that matters a lot as far as marriage is concerned. And that is responsibility.
As a man about to wed or a married man, you'll agree with me that responsibility is one aspect that you cannot avoid for every responsible man.
We know that today not all men are responsible, so sorry to mention that. They just have the title of "man".
So what does responsibility actually means?
Well, being responsible is not about being masculine with the chest and abs of six packs if there be any. As much as that adds to the attractiveness of that man, but still this doesn't make that man responsible.
Let's look at Genesis 2:15-16 "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Verse 16 "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat" (KJV).
Please take note of the word to dress it and keep it. What does this sound like in your ears?
You see God didn't just create Adam and just left him to wander about the Garden or even wasting time, but instead he gave him a task to be responsible for the Garden of Eden. To cater for it.
Note: God did not give Adam a woman (Eve). No he made Adam know responsibility first, before he could finally take care of his family.
Eve became an help meet for him in Genesis 2:18, after he was already busy doing something (responsibility).
And in verse 16 above please take note of "thou mayest freely eat".
So let's establish another fact here, you have to be responsible first (doing something, working), before you are fit to eat freely.
Just imagine, how can somebody eat comfortably when that person knows his house is not in order? Though some persons might do it.
How can a person eat when he's lacking the ability to become responsible?
It is not done. If God in Heaven knew the importance of responsibility then what is stopping you from doing something meaningful in your life?
Even God himself worked when he was building the world, until the seventh day when he rested. Genesis 2:2.
You know some people can be very myopic. You'll hear them say "I will learn responsibility once I get married or in marriage".
Jesus Christ himself said in Luke 14:28 "For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?" (KJV).
This was a question. Whoever has this idea is a big joker. If you think responsibility is only to be learnt in marriage, then you are not fit for marriage. It's that simple.
So please be guided and know the Why and Importance of taking responsibility for who you want to be, for the life you want to live and the image you want to portray in the lives of generations yet unborn.
