Long Distance Relationship.

Long Distance Relationship (LDR) for short is the normal Relationship we engage in, but here we are going the extra mile, the extra work in ensuring love is still within our grasp despite the Long Distance. 

There are disadvantages as well as advantages to this form of Relationship, but you decide on which side you want to be. Like Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo rightly said "it's for Men and not boys".

A Relationship at a close distance still have its ups and down sometimes, nonetheless a long distance relationship. We aren't trying to scare you about what you're embarking on is unlikely to succeed, definitely not. Its a reality, and the truth be told. But still there are people who have succeeded at Long Distance Relationship though it's a small proportion. But hey, you can be part of the small proportion that actually succeeded at it.

  Here are few things that shouldn't be lacking in a Long Distance Relationship. Hope it does help you in whatever stage you are, if you're already in one. 

1. Trust: this is a vital key if at all the relationship is to work. If anything should be missing, trust cannot be missing. It isn't going to be easy though, but it's something you've chosen to do, it's something you've signed up for and so it requires you put in your all and definitely it's going to require your effort.

2. Openness: there are no rooms for secrets. You have to be opened or transparent as possible. Don't make it harder for your partner that it already is. Learn to fill them in on your regular activities, your schedules, your routines just to give the relationship life. Remember it's a long distance afterall, so with this openness there is a level of closure to some extent that couldn't be filled over the long distance. 

3. Communication: the bed rock for communication encompasses 1 and 2 above. With trust and openness, your communication becomes a lot easier. Communication is very vital even for a close relationship. Communication fills up for the non physical lifestyle you're currently going to accommodate for the time being. It creates a kind of room for intimacy through whatever means you've both decided to communicate with.

A Long Distance Relationship is not a gun shot in the leg or a death sentence. There are people who have survived long distance relationship and are married today. Of course there were ups and down, but they knew how to resolve their differences.

If long distance relationship is what you want to go in for, then be very sure you can pull through knowing that one day you'll be together for good. If not, it's best you don't even start at all.
