This is quite particular to Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo's book title: " I love you, but my parents say no"
This is the area we seek to address, which is an update to the previous post with the description link right above.

There is a certain age we attain as young adults, and certain decisions are best left for us to decide ourselves. The Bible makes it clear on this "So a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and become one flesh". We aren't quoting from any Bible translation, it's just to bring your understanding to the point we're driving at.
Our parents are only expected to interfere when we " willingly" seek their guidance and direction. You have every right to decide on a life partner, and how you plan on raising your family together as a couple.
But don't forget, "on what criteria and yardstick are you basing your decisions", this is the update we seek to address.
Was it superficial, or something deeper? Was it just beauty and charm without discretion, goals and purpose or was it to leave the single market? Or is it because all your friends are getting married? Or you're just mesmerized by it?
Just the same way you've chosen that person, remember humans are bound to change, to evolve, sometimes for better and sometimes not so pleasant.
Can you still look at the moment you chose this person to be your life partner and not regret it? The ball is left for you.
